“My name is Vicente and I'm 28 years old. As a kid, I was active, practicing different sports, mainly Judo and football.
When I was 18 years old, I put sports aside to focus on studying and having fun at University, not caring about what I ate or how much I moved. As a result, I got out of shape and was a relatively heavy weight for my height (88 kg at 167 cm).
Shortly after I turned 26, my mom developed some health issues. I believed that if I transitioned into a healthier lifestyle, I could inspire her to do the same. That's when I started taking care of what I ate, walking as much as possible, and started using the Freeletics app five days a week.
Within eight months, I saw massive changes in both my physical and mental health. I even lost 28 kg! Losing this weight allowed me to do things I enjoyed, like hiking and other activities I felt I couldn’t.
Now, one and a half years after my first Freeletics session, I can say it was one of the best decisions of my life. It has allowed me to enjoy life, be healthier, and do so much more.
Sadly, after I turned 27, my mom passed away. I knew that staying active would help me during these challenging times, and even though it was not easy, I kept the healthy habits I had incorporated into my life. This definitely helped clear my mind.
I now have a new goal to inspire others to live healthier lives so they can spend more years with their loved ones and not be burdened by barriers that come with poor physical health.
I’m currently doing the Kettlebell Fundamentals Training Journey with Freeletics, trying to get some more strength and muscle and combining that with running several times per week. I also started doing bouldering.
My advice to anyone who wants to change to a healthier lifestyle is to have a clear vision of why you want to do it. Don’t underestimate what you can accomplish in one year if you put your mind to it. There is no obstacle we can't overcome with persistence.
Thanks for helping people to transform their lives!”
